Job Summary

The Data Analyst will play a critical role within the IT Security GRC team by developing and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights into security governance, risk, and compliance metrics. This role requires strong expertise in data modelling, data engineering, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to design KPIs, automate processes, and support data-driven decision-making. The analyst will work extensively with Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, and Power Automate to manage data ingestion and visualization for security compliance reporting.

Key Responsibilities

·Develop, implement, and maintain Power BI reports and interactive dashboards supporting IT Security GRC functions.

·Design and create scalable and efficient underlying data models within Power BI using DAX and Power Query.

·Collaborate with IT Security, Risk Management, and Compliance teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting requirements.

·Partner with technical teams managing data ingestion pipelines and interfaces to ensure high data quality and integrity.

·Utilize Azure Synapse Analytics to support advanced data engineering, data warehousing, and analytics tasks.

·Automate workflows and data refresh processes using Power Automate to streamline reporting and compliance activities.

·Conduct data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and risks, translating findings into actionable insights for security governance and risk mitigation.

·Ensure compliance with data governance practices and security policies in data handling and reporting.

·Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize data architecture, reporting accuracy, and delivery efficiency.

·Document reporting processes, data sources, and data models, ensuring knowledge sharing within the GRC team.

·Stay current with industry best practices, tools, and regulatory requirements relevant to IT security and GRC.

Required Qualifications

·Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

·Proven experience (3+ years) in data analysis, report/dashboard development, and data engineering within IT or cybersecurity environments.

·Strong proficiency in Power BI development, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and report design.

·Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics or similar data warehousing and big data analytics platforms.

·Experience with Power Automate or other process automation tools.

·Working knowledge of IT security GRC frameworks, terminology, and compliance reporting.

·Solid SQL skills for querying and managing data across multiple sources.

·Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

·Strong collaboration skills, with experience working alongside cross-functional teams such as IT, Security, and Compliance.

·Familiarity with data governance and security best practices related to sensitive and regulatory data.

Preferred Skills

·Understanding of data ingestion mechanisms, ETL pipelines, and API integrations in cloud environments.

·Familiarity with additional analytics or programming tools (Python, R) is a plus.

·Agile project management experience.

·Experience in cybersecurity GRC teams or related risk management roles.

·Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, or similar frameworks.
