BewerbenThe Product Manager, AI, Automation & Innovation will lead the design, delivery, and lifecycle management of AI‑driven and automation-focused products and capabilities across Pontoon and its client programs.
This role blends strategic product leadership, hands-on delivery, and cross-functional orchestration, ensuring Pontoon remains at the forefront of intelligent workforce technology.
The role partners closely with external technology vendors, development teams, and internal business stakeholders to build scalable, high‑value solutions that improve efficiency, enhance customer and talent experience, and unlock operational excellence.
What you’ll be doing• Define the product vision, roadmap, and success metrics for AI, automation, and innovation capabilities in alignment with Pontoon’s strategic direction.
• Conduct market, technology, and customer research to identify emerging opportunities and evolving user needs.
• Balance long‑term innovation strategy with short‑cycle, pragmatic delivery.
• Drive end‑to‑end product lifecycle: ideation, requirements definition, prioritization, backlog management, development, launch, and continuous optimization.
• Work closely with external developers, system integrators, and technology partners to design and deliver robust solutions.
• Lead testing, quality assurance, and release processes ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant.
• Translate business challenges into actionable user stories and technical requirements.
• Identify automation opportunities across operations and client programs using AI, machine learning, RPA, NLP, and advanced analytics.
• Evaluate, pilot, and implement AI-driven tools (including Copilot, predictive models, generative AI workflows, and intelligent chat/assistant capabilities).
• Partner with data science and engineering teams to ensure feasibility and technical alignment.
• Vendor & Ecosystem Management.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for external technology vendors, AI partners, and development firms.
• Manage vendor performance, capability assessments, and value realization across implementations.
• Facilitate co‑development initiatives to accelerate innovation and time‑to‑value.
• Ensure consistent integration of vendor capabilities within Pontoon’s product ecosystem.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration.
• Partner with solution design, operations, product management, commercial teams, and client programs to drive adoption and embed innovation into our service offerings.
• Collaborate with client leadership to identify opportunities to deploy AI/automation in their programs.
• Provide product training, enablement, and change management support to ensure successful rollouts.
• Strategic Communication & Insights.
• Translate complex technology advancements into clear business narratives for leadership, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare documentation, demos, business cases, and value assessments.
• Monitor market and competitive trends to inform product strategy and investment decisions.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Proven experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner delivering digital, AI, automation, or technology driven products.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with external vendors, development teams, or technology partners.
• Background in AI/ML solutions, automation technologies, workflow platforms, or HR/workforce technology preferred.
• Strong experience working in agile, iterative development environments.
• Experience within workforce solutions, MSP/RPO, HR tech, or related industries is an asset.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Skilled in communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to define product strategy and convert it into actionable roadmaps.
• Strong prioritization skills balancing value, feasibility, and effort.
• Deep understanding of AI concepts, automation technologies, integration models, and digital workflow design.
• Ability to work with engineers and developers on technical requirements and architectural decisions.
• Skilled at evaluating vendor capabilities, coordinating delivery, and managing performance.
• Ability to foster strong, collaborative relationships to support co‑innovation initiatives.
• Hands‑on, pragmatic approach to delivering incremental product value.
• Strong project management skills with comfort navigating ambiguity.
• Ability to communicate technical topics to non‑technical audiences clearly and persuasively.
• Commitment to building solutions that solve real user challenges and improve experiences.
• Deep curiosity to understand client needs, operational pain points, and workforce trends.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $128,000 and $190,000. Salary may be determined based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. This position participates in Pontoon’s incentive program which also includes bonus eligibility.
Benefit offerings for full-time employment include medical, dental, vision, term life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits, wellness plans, and a 401k plan or a non-qualified deferred compensation plan. Available paid leave includes Personal Time Off (PTO) on an accrual basis up to 152 hours a year, 10 Paid Holidays, 1 Community Service Day, and up to 6 weeks of Paid Parental Leave. PTO and holiday hours are prorated based on hire date within the calendar year.
