Apply for RoleCounsel provides expert support, advice, counsel, and recommendations to internal clients on a broad range of complex labor and employment matters across multiple jurisdictions. Works under general direction and reports to the Deputy General Counsel & Head of Employment.
What you’ll be doingEffectively interfaces with management of corporate and/or business lines and provides support, advice, counsel and recommendations on various employment-related legal and/or business matters, including hiring, performance management, terminations, immigration, benefits, wage and hour issues, employee relations, leaves of absence, and EEO compliance matters.
· Advises on compensation-related matters, including compensation design proposals, commission plans, and compliance with pay transparency laws.
· Monitors federal, state, and local legal developments and creates and implements compliance strategies aligned with best practices.
· Develops, updates, and maintains employment policies, handbooks, guidelines, programs and processes that align with local requirements and best practices, in collaboration with Human Resources and other business stakeholders.
· Develops and delivers training to employees and leadership on ethics, compliance, and best practices.
· Reviews and recommends new techniques, policies and/or procedures aimed at enhancing the productivity, reliability, technical innovation, and quality of legal work.
· Partners with leadership to identify current and future legal support needs.
· Prepares memos, policy statements, and communications to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws.
· Manages outside counsel with respect to labor and employment matters, as applicable.
· Communicates with clients, vendors, government agencies and their respective counsel to obtain/provide information and resolve problems.
· Supports global operations with international employment law issues, including cross-border compliance.
· Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned by the Deputy General Couns
About youEDUCATION & JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and licensure to practice in assigned state(s) with a minimum of six (6) years of domestic labor and employment law experience required.
COMPETENCIES:
· Skilled in communicating effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of management and employees.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
· Ability to provide subject matter expertise and counsel to others.
· Ability to demonstrate negotiation, litigation, and dispute resolution skills.
· Knowledge of and the ability to negotiate and administer contracts, as well as the ability to execute contracts in compliance with corporate guidelines, laws, rules and regulations.
· Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply federal and state employment-related laws, rules and regulations.
· Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
· Ability to identify and/or document existing and new processes as well as evaluate their effectiveness and/or recommend changes or alternatives.
· Ability to identify and resolve problems.
· Ability to effectively manage projects that vary in nature and scope.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
· Ability to work remote with occasional reporting in-person.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $132,063- $242,116Compensation varies based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, key skills, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the position is also eligible for incentive compensation based on achievements outlined in the compensation plan.
Benefit offerings for full-time employment include medical, dental, vision, term life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits, wellness plans, and a 401k plan or a non-qualified deferred compensation plan. Available paid leave includes Personal Time Off (PTO) on an accrual basis up to 152 hours a year, 10 Paid Holidays, 1 Community Service Day, and up to 6 weeks of Paid Parental Leave. PTO and holiday hours are prorated based on hire date within the calendar year.
