About the role

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Projects Manager to serve as a Business Partner to enable the effective execution of strategic projects for the Strategic Program Management Office (SPMO) and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) at Pontoon. This role will facilitate, govern and execute projects supporting the Business Unit: solution design, sales, sales operations, implementation, product strategy, and 
bid management. This position is a hybrid of Project Manager, SPMO Officer, and Strategic Business Partner. This role will report directly to the VP of the (SPMO) and dotted line responsibility to SVP Sales and Professional Services. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive operational, strategic, and governance support — ensuring that priorities are executed, communication flows efficiently, and internal governance 
structures are upheld while utilizing SPMO standards. This role will be pivotal in enabling focus, maintaining execution discipline, and ensuring cross-functional alignment across global initiatives and resources. The role also plays a crucial part in bridging the gap between strategic vision and tactical execution, ensuring that 
projects not only meet individual deliverables but also contribute significantly to the organization's overarching goals.

What you’ll be doing

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Projects & Task Management
• Define, plan, and execute a strategic program roadmap aligning with business objectives and growth strategies.
• Lead tracking and follow-up of cross-functional deliverables across solution design, sales, implementation, and product initiatives.
• Maintain master task lists, RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), and ensure timely follow-through.
• Organize internal project reviews, checkpoint meetings, and steering committee preparations in collaboration with Sales and Professional Services leadership.
• Log and maintain all project activity in accordance with SPMO project governance standards and maintain SPMO level updates. 
• Develop and maintain project dashboards, team structure charts, and documentation repositories (e.g., Teams/SharePoint).Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Building
• Within defined business units, establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, cross-functional teams, and partners.
• Effectively communicate program goals, progress, risks, and benefits to all stakeholders.
• Serve as a strategic navigator, driving business growth and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration across the organization.
• Guide and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the program team.

Governance & Communication
• Oversee project governance routines — including meeting cadence, documentation standards, and communications flow. 
• Prepare high-quality presentations, briefing decks, and leadership updates.
• Liaise with cross-functional support teams (HR, Finance, Sales Ops, etc.) as needed to support project activity and mitigate adverse impact.

Business Acumen & Strategic Impact
• Build and maintain business acumen to understand workforce solution market trends, competitive landscape, and strategic business needs.
• Analyze project performance against business goals and optimize for maximum return on investment (ROI).

Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

About you

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• 5+ years in a Project Manager, PMO, or Business Operations role — preferably supporting senior/global leadership.
• Strong project management, task tracking, and organizational skills.
• Experience with governance frameworks, administrative process management, and operational reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Planner, SharePoint, CoPilot).
• Experience in working with executive level business partners and sponsors in a project leader capacity. 
• Ability to maintain discretion, confidentiality, and professional maturity.


Preferred Experience
• Exposure to professional services, staffing, or consulting environments.
• Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), project tracking tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Monday.com), or VMS platforms.
• Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) are a plus.
• Experience with AI tool incorporation into daily tasks and workflows.

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $100,646 - $150,969. Salary may be determined based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. This position participates in Pontoon’s incentive program which also includes bonus eligibility.

Benefit offerings for full-time employment include medical, dental, vision, term life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits, wellness plans, and a 401k plan or a non-qualified deferred compensation plan. Available paid leave includes Personal Time Off (PTO) on an accrual basis up to 152 hours a year, 10 Paid Holidays, 1 Community Service Day, and up to 6 weeks of Paid Parental Leave. PTO and holiday hours are prorated based on hire date within the calendar year.
