Security Manager

Adecco Defence Force Recruiting (DFR) is seeking an experienced and passionate Security Manager to lead its dedicated Security Team. Reporting to the Group Chief Security Officer and working closely with Defence stakeholders, you will leverage your expertise in delivering security outcomes within the Defence industry to manage risk and drive consistent, compliant governance, information, personnel, and physical security outcomes across a nationally dispersed operation.

Reporting to the Group Chief Security Officer, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive, risk-aware security culture across DFR and Adecco Australia.
You will:
- Lead a small team of Security Officers, ensuring a consistent and policy-compliant approach to security across Adecco Australia and the DFR organisation.
- Ensure Adecco DFR's ongoing compliance with the requirements of the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) by maintaining a contemporary understanding of the Defence and government security environment.
- As a subject matter expert, support the Group Chief Security Officer in the preparation and submission of the Annual Security Report.
- Act as the central point of contact and subject matter expert for all security-related matters, enquiries, and escalations, with a particular focus on governance, physical security, and personnel security.
- Maintain the security clearance required to undertake the responsibilities of a Security Manager within the Defence environment.
- Develop, implement, and deliver security training, policies, procedures, and processes that continually strengthen and enhance the security culture of Adecco Australia and DFR.
- Liaise with AGSVA, Defence, and internal stakeholders to manage security clearances for Adecco employees and subcontractor personnel.
- Drive and champion continuous improvement initiatives to maintain the physical security of DFR sites, working closely with Defence and internal stakeholders to ensure associated systems and controls remain compliant and effective.
- Manage and maintain the accreditation of all DFR sites, including new builds and refurbishments, liaising with Defence Security, SCEC consultants, architects, and builders to ensure facilities meet and maintain Defence security standards.
- Maintain accurate, compliant, and auditable security records and systems, ensuring all mandatory reporting, compliance obligations, and security training requirements are met.
- Conduct assurance activities across the Security function, producing and presenting data-driven insights, reports, and recommendations to support informed executive decision-making.
- Develop, manage, and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships through the delivery of services that meet or exceed Defence and Adecco DFR contractual requirements, strengthening the long-term partnership between Adecco and the Commonwealth of Australia.

Your background will demonstrate:
- Extensive experience managing security within a Defence and/or Defence Industry environment, preferably across a national or multi-site organisation.
- Strong, contemporary knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and/or Defence Security Policy Framework (DSPF).
- Proven experience developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and training programs across national or multi-site operations, with a demonstrated ability to foster and sustain a positive security culture.
- Experience in project management and modern construction methodologies, including the accreditation of physical security arrangements to Defence security standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in incident management, investigations, and the delivery of security risk assessments.
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external security agencies.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy and integrity in security-related documentation and reporting.
- The ability to monitor emerging security threats, trends, and best practices, and adapt security strategies and controls accordingly.
- Professional security certifications, such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or equivalent, are highly desirable.
