About the role

The People Operations Specialist provides regional People Operations support across multiple countries, coordinating and executing standardized People processes while ensuring alignment with global policies and local requirements. The role supports regional and global HR initiatives by managing complex employee lifecycle activities, serving as a key operational point of contact for employees and managers, and working closely with HR Business Partners, People Leaders, and local HR teams to deliver consistent and compliant People Operations services.

The role includes region‑wide responsibility and country‑specific operational ownership, including payroll administration in select markets where local HR support is limited or unavailable. The People Operations Specialist applies strong working knowledge of HR systems, People Operations practices, and local employment requirements to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant outcomes across markets.

The role works under moderate supervision and exercises sound judgment in managing multiple priorities across countries, processes, and stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide People Operations support across multiple countries within an assigned region, coordinating inquiries and activities and escalating matters as appropriate.
  • Provide end-to-end operational support across the employee lifecycle, applying global People policies while ensuring alignment with local employment and payroll requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and complete employee data in Pontoon’s global HR Information Systems, including Avature and SAP SuccessFactors, supporting data entry, updates, audits, and reporting.
  • Support country‑specific payroll activities by preparing and validating payroll inputs, either processed internally or through external vendors, to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Coordinate and oversee regional onboarding activities across multiple countries, ensuring consistent execution, accurate documentation, system setup, and payroll coordination.
  • Process employee data changes and maintain personnel documentation with a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance across systems and records.
  • Prepare and distribute standard and ad‑hoc People reports to support operational, compliance, and reporting needs.
  • Support regional and global People initiatives and projects by completing assigned tasks, tracking progress, and meeting established timelines.
  • Identify and suggest practical improvements to People Operations processes to enhance efficiency, consistency, and service quality.
  • Stay informed of applicable employment regulations, payroll requirements, and People Operations procedures relevant to assigned countries and region.
  • Always maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
About you

EDUCATION & JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Associate Degree or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

A minimum of 1-3 years in a fast-paced environment that demands a high-level of organization and work with detail.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Skilled in communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Project planning and task management required; demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective written, oral communication, and interpersonal relation skills. Strong attention to detail in composing and proofing communications & reports.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage work flow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage competing tasks and demands and can work with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
