About the role

The Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst supports internal and external customers using technical, data, and business skills to produce reporting and data-driven program-specific analysis. The BI Reporting Analyst is responsible for providing customer-specific, transactional, and/or ad-hoc reporting as well as using descriptive analytics to support MSP & RXO programs. The BI Reporting Analyst develops and distributes reports utilizing customer’s VMS / ATS instances, Excel and other systems, as necessary, according to requirements received by the program teams and other business stakeholders. In this role, the BI Reporting Analyst is a superuser of PowerBI dashboards used by the account teams. The person will utilize strong data skills coupled with a deep understanding of customers’ needs to deliver reports on each engagement. The role is a highly visible, working closely with management; thus, strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

What you’ll be doing

Responds to requests, determine business objectives, translates to data needs, and follows guidelines to provide reports, charts, and operational insights via BI tools.

• Assists Pontoon Analytics and Data Services with data requirements. Develops standard and custom transactional reports in VMS/ATS.

• Responsible for design, set up, configuration, and distribution of source system reporting.

• Gathers reporting specifications (SOP’s) from the fellow team members. Ensures SOP’s are accurate and updated when needed. Responsible for running, verifying accuracy and distributing reports per the Pontoon Standard.

• Advises on the data and metrics needed to meet business requirements.

• Interprets data using exploratory data analysis and descriptive statistics.

• Responds to ad hoc report requests by first understanding business objectives.

• Ensures data is delivered with a high level of integrity and consistency.

• Provides feedback / suggestions for improved data governance, business rules, practices, etc.

• Assists in defining actionable metrics, develops recommendations, and identifies process improvement opportunities.

• Performs user acceptance testing of dashboards and other deliverables.

• Analyzes KPI’s, ensuring metrics provide a clear picture of overall program performance as well as measuring against contractual service level agreements (SLAs).

• Works to meet or exceed service level agreements

About you

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or Business.

Two (2) to five (5) years’ experience in business data analytics, and/or statistical modeling.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Skilled in communicating effectively verbally and in writing.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

• Prior RPO/MSP/Staffing experience preferred.

• Experience with VMS tools, such as Fieldglass, or Beeline, and/OR ATS tools, such as BrassRing, PeopleFluent, Avature, Taleo, or SuccessFactors strongly desired.

• Experienced user of BI tools required

• Ability to perform accurately in a detailed environment while being able to effectively prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

• Ability to diagnose potential root causes using data, combined with business knowledge.

• Understanding of descriptive statistics.

• Ability to extract and transform data from BI tools and source systems to meet reporting and analytics requests.

• Ability to communicate data-driven insights in an easy to consume format.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
