About the role

The HR Operations Specialist serves as the primary local HR expert and trusted advisor for employees, managers, and HR stakeholders at the Global HQ in Zurich. The role is responsible for delivering high-quality HR operational services, providing expert guidance on employee relations matters, and ensuring compliance with Swiss employment legislation and internal policies throughout the employee lifecycle. Acting as a key partner to HR Business Partners, Payroll, Legal, Talent Acquisition, and external authorities, the incumbent ensures an exceptional employee experience while driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and effective execution of local HR processes and programs. The role requires deep expertise in Swiss labor law, Swiss social security regulations, and local employment practices, combined with a strong customer-centric mindset and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced, international environment.

What you’ll be doing
  • Serve as the primary HR contact and trusted advisor for employees, line managers, and international managers on local HR policies, procedures, and employment-related matters.
  • Partner closely with our Global HRBPs and provide expert guidance on Swiss employment law, Swiss social security regulations, and Swiss HR compliance requirements.
  • Lead the Traineeship Program with HMS (Handelsmittelschule): Recruitment, supervision, and training of trainees.
  • Support annual HR processes including performance management, talent review, compensation review in partnership with Global HRBPs.
  • Manage HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding, in collaboration with Shared Services. Support managers and employees throughout the transition process while ensuring legal compliance and a positive employee experience.
  • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives and events, including Welcome Day, tailored onboarding meetings, National Future Day, Bike to Work, and Lunch & Learn sessions, in partnership with our reception team.
  • Act as payroll backup
  • Support HR projects and continuous process improvements.
  • Oversee corporate credit card administration and related governance processes.
  • Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and service excellence.
About you
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist, HR Operations, or HR Specialist role, preferably within a multinational corporate environment.
  • Federal Diploma in HR (Eidg. Dipl. Personalfachmann/-frau) is required.
  • Proven experience working in a multicultural and matrixed organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of Swiss employment law, social security regulations, and HR administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong customer-focused, solution-oriented, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and integrity when handling confidential matters.
  • Fluency in both English and German is required; additional languages are considered an asset.
