Reporting directly to the Deputy Managing Director, the Head of Recruitment and Events Delivery is a critical executive leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering one of Australia's largest and most strategically significant recruitment programs in support of the Australian Defence Force (ADF).


Leading a national, high-performing recruitment and events function, you will partner with Adecco and Defence stakeholders to recruit the right people, in the right numbers, at the right time to strengthen Australia's future defence capability. Combining strategic leadership with commercial and operational accountability, you will drive innovation, build trusted executive relationships and deliver exceptional recruitment outcomes across a complex, high-profile national contract.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading multiple national functions—including National Recruiting, National Candidate Experience, and National Events & Engagement you will ensure the successful delivery of recruitment outcomes while fostering strong partnerships across Adecco, the Australian Defence Force and key stakeholders.


This role combines strategic leadership, commercial accountability and operational excellence, requiring an executive who can confidently navigate complexity, inspire high-performing teams and deliver results within a large, fast-paced environment.

You will:

  • Lead the development and execution of the national recruitment strategy, delivering operational excellence and workforce outcomes for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
  • Provide strategic leadership to a high-performing national recruitment operations team, driving performance, innovation and exceptional candidate experiences.
  • Build and maintain trusted executive relationships with Defence, Adecco and key stakeholders, fostering a collaborative "One Team" approach.
  • Own the Recruiting Operations P&L, ensuring commercial performance, contractual compliance, workforce planning and delivery against key performance indicators.
  • Partner with Defence to anticipate future workforce capability requirements and align long-term recruitment strategies with organisational priorities.
  • Deliver accurate performance reporting, forecasting and strategic insights to inform executive decision-making.
  • Develop and mentor senior leaders, building organisational capability and a strong succession pipeline.
  • Drive continuous improvement by leveraging recruitment market trends, data insights and innovative practices to enhance operational performance and client outcomes.
  • Ensure delivery of contractual obligations while maintaining exceptional client relationships and consistently exceeding service expectations.

Your background will demonstrate:

  • Functional knowledge of the hiring process and an interest in optimising it is essential.
  • Have a deep understanding of both the TA lifecycle and the capabilities of recruiting systems.
  • Evaluate new systems based on their global capabilities and work closely with information security and legal teams.
  • Understand where overlap exists between systems, where functionality is missing or underutilised, and how the systems can be connected and streamlined for maximum recruiting effectiveness.
  • Ensure that data is captured and monitored efficiently for continuous improvement of talent acquisition.
  • Understand both the business and how technology is evolving so that they can make wise recommendations.
  • Connecting with peers and engaging in ongoing learning.
