Recruitment Consultant

Location: Solutions House, Crompton Rd, Stevenage SG1 2EE - covering our Welwyn Garden City patches but located in our Stevenage office.

Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30-5pm

Hybrid 3 days in the office & 2 days WFH

Salary: up to £29k depending on experience + commission

Valid driving license and car to demonstrate the confidence and willingness to drive so you can meet your clients and prospective clients, ensuring they receive a tailored and personalised experience.

This role involves managing a Perms desk, focusing on the commercial and industrial sectors.  

You’ll excel in face-to-face client meetings, fostering and expanding relationships by engaging with lapsed, existing, and potential clients. This position demands adaptability in a fast-paced environment, readiness to seize the day, and a strong drive for progression within the recruitment industry. Success will involve leveraging sales skills to maximize your personal financial outcomes.

The ideal candidate will thrive in competitive settings, demonstrate initiative and a willingness to engage in door-to-door efforts when necessary for client wins. Attitude is key; we’re seeking someone with enthusiasm for the job, a love for relationship-building and exceptional communication skills.

The Team

The team has years of experience in the local area. The manager, Dana, has a wealth of experience within the Adecco business and is one of the hardest working, yet sensitive and fun people you could ever wish to work for. She has recently returned as the branch manager after working in a National Accounts role for the last couple of years. Already she is making a great impact on the branch and is great at bringing structure to the team!

The Temporary Consultant, Kat, also has years of experience and is very sales focussed and driven. She loves going to the gym and has a very close family (twin sister too!). The team environment is based within a shared Adecco group office with our sister company, Akkodis, so is always busy and buzzy with contractors and visitors on site. There are great facilities on site such as free parking, a lovely kitchen area, meeting rooms etc.

• Developing long term professional business relationships with both clients and candidates.
• Growing the weekly client base by supplying permanent staff to a number of business in the local area.
• Providing a specialist consultative service by developing a thorough understanding of your City.
• Sourcing and successfully placing permanent candidates into roles.
• Delivering a high level of customer service to all clients, candidates, and colleagues.  
• Using sales, business development, marketing techniques and networking to attract business from companies.
• Visiting companies to build and develop working relationships.
• Develop a good understanding of companies, their industry, what they do and their work culture and environment.
• Advertising vacancies by drafting and placing adverts in a wide range of media, for example websites and magazines.
• Headhunting - identifying and approaching suitable candidates who may already be in work.
• Receiving and reviewing applications, managing interviews and tests and creating a shortlist of candidates for the client.
• Meeting and briefing the candidate about the responsibilities, salary and benefits of the job in question.
• Preparing CVs and correspondence to forward to clients in respect of suitable applicants.
• Offering advice to both clients and candidates on pay rates, training, and career progression.

Ideally, we would love if you have recruitment experience as this desk needs the attention of a business development focused individual. But we’re also open to someone who has a strong grasp of winning business and having the sales acumen to use their initiative to speak to prospective clients strategically and consultatively.

More than anything we need someone who is strong on the phones, wants to pick up the phone and speak to people and sell the recruitment solution we are here to offer.

You will be building your own Perms desk, primarily in the industrial sector, but also within the commercial marketplace. It’s an exciting time to join and build yourself, with incredible support and guidance from your team!
