Finance Manager, Information Technology - APAC

As part of the APAC Technology Finance team, you will be reporting directly to the APAC IT Controller, and this role will be based out of the KL IT Hub. 

The Finance Manager, Information Technology - APAC  will support the APAC IT Controller and be the finance business partner to the IT stakeholders (Markets IT leaders and IT functional leaders) in APAC region and Global IT. You will drive the IT financial productivity of the APAC region through strong business analytics and support the APAC IT Controller in the oversight of the IT regional Hub in KL to ensure operational efficiencies, and timeliness of all statutory and regulatory submission. 

As the Finance business partner to the APAC Head of IT Production, you will offer Financial Planning and Analytics and overall controllership to the IT Production budget, forecast and actual reporting. 

You will be responsible for the financial management and controlling aspects of IT project financial, such as preparing monthly scorecard and presentations; as well as working with Project Managers, Regional PPM team, and Country Finance to drive project cost forecasting accuracy, and spending to date alignment. 

A highly collaborative role which will see you partner with various countries and various brands and business lines. Establish an effective and efficient financial oversight, internal control framework which ensures the delivery of the APAC IT financial and operational performance objectives in line with the developed strategy. 


About the Role

The Finance Manager, Information Technology , APAC will support the APAC IT Controller in the following areas:

Stakeholder Management

•    Proactively work with Market IT & Finance counterparts in the region to resolve all IT finance related issues or queries with prompt follow-up and follow through.
•    Conduct regular meetings with Market IT & Finance counterparts to review the IT forecasts accuracy. Engaging the right stakeholders and ensure issue resolutions.
•    Be the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for other finance functions

Operation & Compliance
•    General financial aspects of IT such as, but not limited to, month end and year end reports and processes, reconciliations, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
•    Ensure IT is properly controlled in terms of costs, time to deliver, benefits.
•    Ensure IT management has the right tools, information, and support to assess and improve financial performance.
•    Ensure that both IT and Business is kept informed of progress towards achieving objectives and strategy as well as projects delivery.
•    Responsible for the IT project forecasting, and actual reporting with monthly variance analysis. This will require strong partnership with Country finance, and IT PM to ensure financial data and forecast alignment
•    Be the Finance business partner to the APAC Head of IT Production 
•    Proactively work with Country finance controller, Country IT Production lead and/or IT Business Partner to ensure timeliness and financial data accuracy of the IT Production forecast to the Regional Head of IT Production  
•    Be the Single point of contact for all IT Productions related matters with Global counterparts
•    Support all aspects of any internal audit. Influence IT organization to achieve full audit compliance. Implement proactively internal controls and practices to enhance the level of IT audit compliance. 
•    Ensure the business complies with legislative requirements in areas of finance (e.g. ICOFR, Policies compliance)
•    Build and deliver efficient processes across the region using global systems and tools when available, driving consistency and removing roadblocks along financial process. Review existing processes and tools and recommend best practice across the countries and teams
•    Support in the review of operational compliance of the IT regional Hub in KL


Process/Systems/Continuous Improvement
•    Ensure global process are implemented as designed and adequate internal controls are in place and monitored.
•    Embrace and lead process/system/mindset change.
•    Initiate and drive process improvements within APAC


Team Management
•    Acts as the back-up for the IT Hub Controller


Requirements

•    5 – 7 years of experience in controlling and with Big 4 audit background, is a plus.
•    University degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant work experience
•    Accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CPA/CMA/ICAEW)
•    Clear and concise communication style
•    Strong interpersonal skill. Must possess "soft skills": conflict resolution and negotiation, personal  effectiveness, creative problem solving,     strategic thinking, team building, and influencing skills.
•    Exhibit customer centric mindset and the ability to manage tasks with competing priorities to meet the     demand
•    Highly motivated, deadline driven and result focused
•    Hands-on and detailed oriented; comfortable working at process level
•    Prior experience working within a shared service environment
•    Intercultural environment
•    USGAAP Experience
•    Experience of delivering under pressure within “grey” area
•    High level of commitment and flexibility, poise, communication, and teamwork skills.
•    Ability to interact with all levels, influence senior managers and be equally comfortable with senior  management in cross-functional efforts.
•    Experience is visualization tools such as Power-BI to automate reports
•    Bachelor’s Degree in finance & Accounting or MBA
•    Travel Requirement - None
