About the role

SUMMARY:

The Employee Relations Investigator is responsible for addressing and resolving workplace conflicts, misconduct, and other employment-related issues. This position will investigate complaints, concerns, or allegations brought forth by employees, ensuring a fair and impartial process while upholding organizational policies and applicable employment laws.

What you’ll be doing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct Investigations:

  • Independently initiate and conduct thorough investigations into employee relations concerns, including but not limited to harassment, discrimination, workplace misconduct, and policy violations.
  • Interview relevant parties, gather evidence, and analyze information to make well-informed and impartial recommendations.
  • Ensure investigations are conducted in compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable employment laws.
  • Provide guidance to employees and management on interpreting and adhering to company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of investigations, ensuring documentation is organized and accessible for future reference.
  • Prepare comprehensive and clear investigative reports summarizing findings and recommendations.

Conflict Resolution:

  • Collaborate with HR business partners, management, clients and legal counsel to facilitate the resolution of employee relations issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide guidance to management on conflict resolution and proactive measures to maintain a positive workplace culture.

Training and Education:

  • Deliver training programs to educate employees and managers on relevant policies, procedures, and best practices in employee relations.
  • Stay abreast of changes in employment laws and regulations to ensure training materials are current and relevant.
About you

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field strongly preferred
  • Proven experience as an Employee Relations Investigator or similar role
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with employees at all levels.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Discretion and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR) is a plus

The anticipated salary range for this position is $68,440 and $125,473. Salary may be determined based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. This position includes an incentive program that may include bonus and/or commission.   

Benefit offerings for full-time employment may include medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits, wellness plans and reimbursement and retirement programs.  Available paid leave may include paid time off, parental leave and holiday pay.
